After the long and tiring exams, students have their time to relax. They will wait for few days to know the results of their labor. Teachers issue report cards to parents to determine their child’s grades. Some are excited for those who have aspiring honor, while the others don’t mind. Grades determine how a student performs in each grading period. They also show what the student did for almost two months before taking the periodic tests. Giving report cards in not the only purpose of a teacher. She/he also discusses to the parents the student’s problem.
As the day come when we will receive our report card, I’m quite nervous. There were lots of questions that entered my mind. Will my parents be glad for what I’ve got? Do I have good grades? Shall I be on the top? What rank am I? What subject did I excel the most? All in all I’m excited and a little bit frightened.
When I’ve seen my report card from my uncle, who got it from my teacher, I felt contented. I am the top five from the class. Actually at first, it was a very, very big shock for me. Though I know my sacrifices paid a lot, I can’t help but be surprised. My friends and cousins were glad upon hearing it. They sent messages to my facebook account and said that I should do better than this. I was overwhelmed by their support. Thanks to them and mostly from God who guide me all the way.
As I look back from the beginning of the class, I don’t have any regrets with what I did. I studied a lot to maintain my position being the top six last year. I did a lot of research for my assignments. Asked the help of my relatives and take the least that they can give. Though it’s hard for me being away from my parents, it’s not a hindrance but a challenge. I know they are also fighting for my future. And being far from them is okay as long as I know that their prayers reach me. That’s why I want them to be proud of me.
Now another grading has started, I should do more, give more and study more. I should be a fighter. If they ask me to dance, I should do it. Sing though notes can’t read my voice, I will sing. And most especially learn a lot from the learning process. Then applying them in day to day life is a must. I know my teachers’ advices and knowledge are the greatest gift that they can offer. That’s why I thank them for being soft speaker, mind temper and loving to us, students. Teacher, all of you, will not be disappointed of me.
